Matthew 6:25

Easter 2008- So here we all are, by this time shirts were untucked and stained and shoes were missing but, no worries, right!

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important that food and the body more important than clothes? .....And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these......

This is the verse that was going through my head in the minutes after I dumped Easter Sunday's beef brisket all down the front of my brand new, Easter dress and my cute matching shoes.(Did I mention that said Easter dress was purchased while shopping ALONE in Pigeon Forge with all 3 of my sweet helpful children?) All this preparation, shopping, cooking, ironing, coordinating. We were all in the car ON TIME with the food that we were taking to our friends house after church when the brisket situation occurred. You just have to laugh. So I didn't look like a lily on Easter morning, but I had a day filled with the blessings of family, friends, and the celebration of a Saviour who is Risen- just as he said! (Matthew 28:6). So I'll try again to learn "not to worry about tommorow", because one thing I know for sure is that "each day has enough trouble of it's own". Today's trouble was called beef brisket on mama's Easter dress.

I am so sorry. Briskets are so much work. I also know that the task of shopping for an Easter dress was a lot of work. The fact that you kept your cool amongst this catastrophe shows you are a stronger woman than I.

I didn't even hear that story yesterday. It all worked out though and you guys all looked fabulous. At least you had all your family in the picture! Poor Joshua.

Betsy your boys looked adorable, minus shoes and with untucked shirts. I loved the pictures of Cullen with the chicks! So sweet. Glad to see you are back and yeah for you with giving up something. I too have become "addicted" to my computer and blog.
