Our official numbers for September are # 12 for a girl, # 8 for siblings.
I asked our caseworker if she thought that we were still on track for a referral before the end of the year ( in January they told us to expect approximately a 10 month wait ). All she could say was that so far no one had waited longer than 10.5 months for a baby girl referral. Still, with the slow movement this month, I'm starting to really wonder .......
Even though I am truly a little bummed about the slow movement, I continue to be impressed with the integrity of our agency and their commitment to serve children. They have always made it clear that they exist to find homes for children in need, not children for families in need. We wouldn't want it any other way.
And so we wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.

that's the answer we got too.... "most recent boy referrals 8-9 months" when i asked if we'd get one this year or next. i, too, am starting to wonder though! praying we're happily surprised!

I know I'm responding way late but I have to say that I'm very excited for us. I'm #13 for a girl. It will be so exciting to meet you. I'm guessing and hoping that our families will be traveling together. I just have a feeling that our referral will come sooner than we think. :-)
