I'm Flying!!

Everyone in our family ( except for Cullen ) saw the Peter Pan play at Shakespeare this year, and this catchy tune is frequently floating around our house.
"look at me, in the sky, way up high...... I'm flyyyyyyyyying"
I'm thrilled to announce that we board a plane for Amsterdam, then on to Ethiopia, in less than an hour! And I must admit that "I'm flying"! We have waited for this day for so long, that it's hard to believe that we are at this point in our journey. I have been asked today if I am nervous, and honestly, No! I am just so excited. This weekend some unusual wintery weather threatened to steal my joy, but Gamma has made it safely to Al, Chad and I have made it safely to the airport, and our plane is currently scheduled to leave on time- Praise God!
I didn't even feel anxious about leaving the children like I usually do. The Lord has given me the sweetest Peace. I have a confidence that this is His plan for our family and that confidence wipes out the anxious fears. Our daughter will come home in perfect timing because it was His plan, not ours. There are any number of things that could still go wrong, things that could delay us, or distract us, or upset us. But in the end we rest in the sweet confidence that we are working within the sovereign will of the Lord, soaring high above the momentary troubles of this world. And that, is a glorious place to fly.
